Pictures of Implant Placement and Apicoectomy

The following pictures show a case performed by Dr. Newby where both an apicoectomy and implant placement were needed.  The first x-ray shows two abscessed teeth.  The tooth with the existing root canal (on the left) will have the apicoectomy procedure.  The second abscessed tooth (on the right) will be extracted, as the roots are very short and the long term prognosis for this tooth is poor.  The chronic infection will be removed, bone grafting performed, and an immediate implant placed.
